The FBI/PPD Violent Crimes Task Force is seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the armed robbery today of the Republic Bank branch located at 1601 Walnut Street.
At approximately 11:20 a.m., the subject entered the bank and approached a teller. He pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at her, and verbally demanded money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled the area of the bank on foot, and was last seen heading eastbound on Walnut toward 15th Street.
The subject is described as a black male, approximately 20 to 30 years old, medium height, thin build, with a beard and mustache, and wearing eyeglasses. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, gray pants, black shoes, and black baseball cap with “01” across the front, and carrying a blue bag with white writing.
This subject is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about this armed robbery or this subject is urged to call the FBI/PPD Violent Crimes Task Force at 215-418-4000. There is a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.
