On Thursday January 3, 2019, at 8:52 am, the victim, a 68 year-old male, was standing in the area of the shooping mall located at 1408 West Glenwood Avenue when he was approached by an unknown male armed with a handgun demanding his belongings. The victim refused at which time the suspect struck the victim with the handgun numerous times in the head and face. After still refusing the suspect's demands, the suspect fled the area on foot and was last seen north on Broad Street from Glenwood Avenue. Nothing was taken. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the robbery attempt.
Suspect Description: Black male, early to mid 20 years-of-age, 6'0", light complexion, stocky build, light goatee, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt with a white logo on upper left chest area, dark colored pants with white striping or lettering on pants legs, white/gray sneakers with black laces, yellow/black gloves, camouflage back pack, and armed with a handgun.
